Founder of The Greenways Group of Companies, Dr. Shri Prakash started working at the young age of 16 in commerce, trading and shipping. He founded The Greenways Group of Companies when he established a small liner agency business in 1962. This small company has grown over time due to his dedicated effort, unflinching support and tremendous foresight and the group has carved out a special name for itself in the Indian shipping and logistics sectors.

He was a dedicated advocate of social causes and he firmly believed in a culture of philanthropy. He always found time for the physical and mental well-being for the needy and lent a helping hand to various institutions in and around Chennai, India, including free meal schemes, homes for the aged and orphans, and the eradication of blindness.

Over the years, Dr. Shri Prakash’s dedication to the Indian shipping and logistics sectors as well as his benevolence towards people were recognized by many felicitations received by him including the Hudson Silva Award from the Government of Sri Lanka; the Arthur Lim Gold Medal from the Government of Singapore; the Distinguished Leadership Award for the Eradication of Blindness Programs; the For The Sake Of Honor Award from the Rotary Club; the Doctor of Philosophy degree from the Open International University; the Lifetime Achievement Award, the Corporate Social Responsibility Award, and the Living Legend Award from EXIM India; and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Times of India Group.
